Prince of Peace School provides a quality educational program from Preschool through Junior High. Standard core subjects are enhanced with a multitude of expanded learning opportunities in a Christ-centered environment. The low teacher to pupil ratio (averaging 16:1) allows for more individual attention and the ability to build a strong sense of community, not only in the classrooms, but among all of our families as well.

Community
Our school is noted for its sense of community. Our parents care, so lasting friendships and support are a normal part of life at Prince of Peace. Regular outings, parent involvement, participation in any of the extra-curricular activities all build a strong sense of a close knit family. Since the school is a ministry of Prince of Peace Church, many find extended community and spiritual growth through the life of the greater fellowship.
Curriculum
Our academic program is based on the best curriculums around the country. We meet all of the California Standards, enhance our program with the Core Knowledge Sequence, integrate technology in every day learning through interactive white boards and electronic student feedback, and utilize a host of other tools and experiences. Each class’s scope and sequence booklet can be picked up in the school office for examination. In addition to all regular subjects, the curriculum includes Bible, Computer, Fine Arts, Health and Physical Education, and integrated hands-on Science Labs.

Enhancement Opportunities and Athletics
As the grades progress, our students have increasing opportunities outside of the classroom. These regularly include such things as Hand Bells, Journalism, Outdoor Education, Geography and Spelling Competitions, travel to Washington DC., Chess Club, Peer Mediation, and classroom field trips, just to name a few. Interscholastic athletic teams include boys’ and girls’ volleyball, basketball, and track.
Learning Resources
We work closely with the Children’s Health Council to provide evaluation of special needs and to identify those students who could be served by providing some more advanced challenges. We have a variety of specialists available to help with most learning difficulties on a cost per service basis.
